Faux
School Instructor
Dave Larson is the primary faux
finishing, faux plaster, Lusterstone, faux business instructor and school
owner of the "Decorative Arts Center North" faux finishing school.
With several years of experience in faux finishing, decorative plasters,
Lusterstone and many other painting and business aspects of the "faux"
trade, Dave is one of the front-runners of innovative faux finishing entrepreneurs
and faux businesses.
Dave has a
B.S. degree in HRM & Business Management and has operated a successful
faux finishing and painting business since 1999. He has done everything
from simple repaints and plaster jobs to the finest of faux finishing
and faux plastering for private clients, restaurants, churches, retail
small businesses as well as large franchises on the national level.
Dave has extensive
experience in working with high-end homeowners, designers, general contractors,
architects, as well as members of other trades on faux finishing projects.
He is also experienced in hiring employees and the responsibilities
involved in acquiring and maintaining assistants for the faux finishing
business.
Throughout
the years Dave has attended six different "faux finishing" schools to
learn more about the faux trade. He has taken the best of what he learned
and experienced, both in the classroom and in the faux field, to develop
his own faux finishing school and curriculum.
Dave Larson
completed a five-year apprenticeship under his mentor, Brian Bullard, the
founder, owner, and instructor of "The Decorative Arts Center" in St. Louis,
Missouri. Brian is an american with a "master craftsman" degree in
the trade, which he acquired through eight years of schooling, working,
and living in Germany. Brian has served daily as Dave's mentor
as well his faux finishing and business consultant for his projects, experiences,
and ideas throughout the years.
In 2004,
Brian Bullard and "The Decorative Arts Center" offered Mr. Larson a position
to teach decorative artistry in Dave's own school, "The Decorative Arts
Center North". As an affiliate and member of "The Decorative Arts
Center", Dave meets and exceeds the instructional, curriculum, and facility
requirements which have made the "Decorative Arts Center" methods the standard
for the "faux finishing / business school" industry.
