The Decorative
Arts Center Standards -
School for Faux Finishing
Certification
The "Decorative
Arts Center Standard", for faux finishing, faux plastering, and business
schools, is a strict set of standards set forth to ensure and promote
the proper training of students in the trade of "decorative artistry".
It also serves the purpose of creating and maintaining high standards
in the faux finish trade and for the public eye.
Because "faux
finish" schools in the United States are not state or federally governed
or regulated, it is important for potential students to be informed
as to what they should expect from a school, its instructors, and facility.
The "Decorative
Arts Center Standard" is based on the european standards for painting
schools and instruction, which are federally governed and regulated
in Europe.
Below are
the basic guidelines to the "DAC Standard" for faux finishing schools.
